How Your Home Reflects Your Relationship to Receiving, Nourishment & Self-Worth
If you’ve ever stood in your kitchen overwhelmed by dishes, clutter, or broken appliances and felt it hit you like an emotional weight… you’re not imagining it.
The kitchen isn’t just a space where meals are made.
It’s where wealth, vitality, and emotional energy converge.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the kitchen is considered the heart of your home’s Qi – the energetic flow that nourishes not just your body, but your entire life.
And if you’re a woman healing money trauma, over-responsibility, or emotional survival patterns… this room holds clues you didn’t know you needed.
1. The State of Your Kitchen = The State of Your Receiving
Look around your kitchen right now – without judgement.
What do you notice?
Overflowing drawers? Expired food? Appliances that don’t quite work?
This isn’t about being neat for the sake of appearances.
It’s about clearing stagnant, expired energy so your nervous system can trust the flow of life again.
“You wouldn’t eat expired food.
So why live with expired energy?”
Letting go of broken or cluttered items is a somatic act of permission —
permission to release what no longer supports the version of you who is safe to receive more.
2. Your Stove Is a Portal of Abundance
In Feng Shui, your stove represents wealth energy – and the number of burners you use reflects how open you are to multiple streams of abundance.
If you tend to use the same burner every day (hello back left!), you might be subconsciously narrowing the channels through which wealth can flow.
Here’s a simple practice:
This week, intentionally rotate between all burners.
Even if it’s just boiling water.
You’re signalling: “I’m open to new ways abundance can show up.”
3. Cracks, Chips, and Broken Pieces Hold Broken Energy
That mug with the hairline crack?
That toaster that only works when you jiggle it?
They don’t just create inconvenience – they invite incomplete, scattered energy into your field.
And when you’re doing the deeper work of emotional healing,
your environment becomes part of your co-regulation.
Replacing or releasing broken items is a ritual of wholeness.
A way of telling your body and your bank account:
“I am no longer available for broken.”
And in Late Autumn… This Matters Even More
Right now in Tasmania, the air is slowing. The ground is softening.
This is the season for re-centring. For letting go of excess. For choosing what will carry you through winter.
Your kitchen – your Qi – your capacity to receive – all want the same thing:
Clarity. Warmth. Wholeness.
Want to Anchor This In?
Here’s your gentle invitation:
Choose one of these three principles and apply it this week.
-
Wash and release chipped items
-
Clean your stovetop and rotate your burners
-
Clear one drawer or shelf with love, not pressure
And then notice how you feel – in your body, your bank account, and your breath.
Because wealth isn’t just numbers.
It’s safety. Nourishment. Wholeness.
And it starts in the most sacred of places: your home.
Which principle will you start with?
